The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has approved the following health claims for olive oil polyphenols:

  • Olive oil polyphenols contribute to protecting blood lipids from oxidative stress with an intake of 5 mg*

* The value is derived from olive oil with a content of at least 5 mg olive oil polyphenols per 20 g olive oil and a daily intake of 20 g olive oil.
