Glucomannan (konjac mannan)

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has approved the following health claims for glucomannan:

  • Glucomannan contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels with a daily intake of 4 g
  • Glucomannan contributes to weight loss with a daily intake of 3 g in 3 portions of 1 g each in combination with 1-2 glasses of water before meals and as part of a low-calorie diet

There is a risk of choking for consumers with swallowing difficulties or insufficient fluid intake!
Glucomannan should always be taken with plenty of water.
